Manteo & Hatteras Locations
These two locations offer service to the entire Outer Banks of North Carolina, including Ocracoke Island. Families may choose to use the chapel that would be the most convenient to them. Our goal is to meet the needs of your family from the location of your choosing. The Colony Chapel is located in Manteo, NC and the Island Chapel is on Hatteras Island. The Colony Chapel was constructed in 1978 and is designed in the Elizabethean style found in the area. Located on Roanoke Island, home of the Lost Colony outdoor drama by Paul Green, the Colony Chapel is said to be one of the finest funeral homes in North Carolina and southeastern Virginia. The Island Chapel is located in the village of Hatteras. This location is approximately 50 miles from the Colony Chapel in Manteo. This chapel was constructed in 1965 and newly remodeled in the early 1990s. Ocracoke Island is also served from the Island Chapel. A scenic ferry ride of about 45 minutes is the route to Ocracoke Island from Hatteras. Families from Avon, Buxton, Frisco, Ocracoke and Hatteras village are served from this location.
