Twiford
Funeral Home, Chesapeake, VA
Twiford Funeral Home in Chesapeake, VA was built in 1966. Sam A.
Twiford, Sr. had the foresight to realize the growth potential for this
area. This was the first funeral home built in Great Bridge (now part of
the City of Chesapeake). This is the closest
funeral home to the Moyock area of North Carolina.
The building was constructed of a white, glazed
brick to complement the two story Colonial Home next door. This home,
having been restored in 2000, is now the residence of the grandson of Sam A.
Twiford, Sr., that being Sam A. Twiford III. The original facility was constructed under the
watchful eye of Sam A. Twiford, Sr. to insure the quality and attention to
detail found through out the building.
Sam III continues the tradition of
personal service and attention to detail that sets Twiford Funeral Homes apart
from other facilities in the area.
